The present appearance of the cathedral belongs to the project in 1711 by Gian Battista Vaccarini, who designed a new façade in Baroque style after the earthquake of 1693. It consists of three plants with Corinthian columns of granite, probably taken from the Roman theater in the city. All orders are decorated with marble statues of St. Agatha, sant 'Euplio San Beryllium right and to the left. The entrance door, wood, has 32 plaques carved with scenes from the life and martyrdom of Sant 'Agata, papal coat of arms and symbols of Christianity.

The dome dates back to 1802. The bell tower was originally built in 1387, with a height of 70 meters. In 1662 it was annexed a watch, the property comes to 90 meters. After the destruction of 1693 was rebuilt, annexing a bell of 7.5 meters, the third largest in Italy, after St. Peter's Basilica and the Cathedral of Milan.
